Wow a Christmas present completed already

patchwork and quilting
Way back here my Mother in Law decided to try making a quilt. It was gorgeous but when she finished I think that was it!! So I was the receiver of scraps. I have been pondering for ages about what to do. In the end I made two cushion covers to go on the spare bed with the quilt she made.

I do hope that she likes them! I am trying to branch out and do different quilting. So am quite pleased with the result on these. It is so much easier to practice FMQ on small pieces! Will have to do more.

  3. Well done!! That's great organisation!! The cushions look great, and a good way to practise the fmq-ing, too.

  7. I think that's a great idea to do with her scraps! I'm sure she will love it. I bought my mother fabric, didn't get sewed what I had intended, but showed her the fabric last Christmas. She decided she would like to have pillows from it...guess what she's probably getting this Christmas?! Haha, I know, I'm terrible, but there will be pillows... Hopefully by the festive season 😊 I can't believe I'm basically giving the same present twice, but she'll think it's funny, too. You should be so proud to actually be getting Christmas presents done!

A gorgeous break in Rarotonga

Woo hoo, A holiday with no kids for 11 days. Bliss, relaxing and warm! BTW it was an early 20th wedding anniversary present to ourselves....
