Being a proud parent

Back before Christmas we made piles of fondant decorations for cupcakes etc over Christmas time. Eli and Jakob spent an evening icing and decorating cupcakes for their teachers and school mates.

Then on the second to last day at school we had the awards night. The photos are not that great but on the left you see two boys in blue shirts. Both Eli and Jakob won the academic award for their respective classes. I could not be more proud.

The next photo down of the band you will see Eli drumming his heart out for the two songs his band had been practicing.

Great parent moments!!!

Love in a lunch box

This is the first time I have ever done anything for valentines day. It wasn't the hit I was hoping it would be as Eli told me that I was a mean mum this morning when I wished him happy valentines day. I did laugh. He wanted to watch a Youtube item on his IPod before school - I Don't Think So!!!!

Last night I made cupcakes and buttercream icing to put on the decorations that I made earlier in the week.
Everyone got two each in their lunch boxes. That is one more than I would normally do - but I saw it as a treat.
Their sandwiches were cut into heart shapes with a cookie cutter. I was also going to cut apple like that but there was no room left in the lunch boxes.

Learn to use fondant icing - at the Make Cafe

Kirsty pouring cold drinks

Everyone arriving and exclaiming

The plain cupcakes to start with

More of what I finished

On Wednesday night I went to a fondant icing course - or cupcake icing course - at The Make Cafe. I had a lovely time along with 6 other women. I learnt alot. It was fun and look at how much we did in just the two hour session.

Not only did I learn a new thing but it was a real treat. Kirsty at The Make Cafe, puts incredible effort into her events with the aim to make you see it as a special time. All beautifully decorated and laid out but also lovely teas, coffee and something to nibble.

My boys were really impressed and took them to school in their lunch boxes.

A gorgeous break in Rarotonga

Woo hoo, A holiday with no kids for 11 days. Bliss, relaxing and warm! BTW it was an early 20th wedding anniversary present to ourselves....
